<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inhibiting growth and metastasis of a solid tumor by using a method which can be combined with vector structure, prodrug activation, immune stimulation structure and a present standard treatment. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided the method for decreasing the size of a localized or metastatic tumor or retarding its progression by using a combination of gene therapy and other therapies, including radiation therapy, chemotherapy, surgery, immunotherapy, and antihormone therapy. In one aspect, there is provided the method for inhibiting the growth of a prostate or mammary carcinoma by a combination of treatment with adenoviral vectors encoding a prodrug activating gene such as HSVTK, followed by corresponding prodrug and radiation therapy. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
