PURPOSE: An automatic opening and shutting control device for a cover of an exhaust chimney in a diesel train is provided to protect an engine room from rainwater and prevent the waste of electricity by discontinuously applying electricity to a drive motor according to the engine start of a train. CONSTITUTION: An automatic opening and shutting control device for a cover of an exhaust chimney in a diesel train comprises a frame(100) which is installed in an exhaust chimney of a diesel train and a cover(200) which opens or closes an opening of the frame. One end of a pulling wire(20) is fixed to the front and rear sides of the cover while the other end is wound around a winding drum(10). The cover is pulled back or forth according to the rotating direction of the winding drum that is controlled by the rotation of a drive motor.
