<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the worsening of drivability from being caused, while preventing abrupt recovery of drive force in torque down control. <P>SOLUTION: When there is a possibility of interlock during starting, for instance, an engine torque regulation value is lowered to a prescribed value to perform torque down. The recovery is performed by increasing an engine torque regulation value T<SB POS="POST">n</SB>by ΔTs for every processing flow in an accelerator ON state. When the accelerator is turned OFF in the process of the recovery, the engine torque regulation value is held at a point of the time to limit the recovery more than that when the accelerator is turned ON and to increase the engine torque regulation value by relieving the limitation since a driver hardly feels an unpleasant feeling when vehicle speed is a prescribed value or more, even when the accelerator is turned OFF.
