<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver which receives data economically with high accuracy by time-division demultiplexing in an optical access system which performs data transmission between a transmitter and a receiver. <P>SOLUTION: A receiver 2H comprises: a semiconductor optical amplifier 216H which receives a time-division multiplexed optical signal and performs sampling and amplification at a predetermined timing; a signal generator 217H which outputs a signal having a current larger than the threshold current of the semiconductor optical amplifier 216H, at a predetermined timing, to the semiconductor optical amplifier 216H and outputs a signal having a current below the threshold current, at a time other than the predetermined timing, to the semiconductor optical amplifier 216H; and an optical receiver 201H which converts an optical signal that is sampled and amplified by the semiconductor optical amplifier 216H into an electrical signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
