<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powder essentially composed of indium oxide of which the chlorine quality is 6 ppm by mass or less even when an indium chloride or a metal salt essentially composed of indium chloride is used as a starting material. <P>SOLUTION: Indium chloride is added to a basic aqueous solution while the liquid temperature upon mixture is made to be less than 50°C, pH is kept to be 8 or more and the pH upon completion of the mixture is made to be 11 to 14; indium hydroxide is crystallized; the obtained indium hydroxide is dispersed into an aqueous ammonium solution of 0.08 mol/L or more to prepare a suspension; the suspension is kept at a liquid temperature of 60 to 100°C and, thereafter, is filtered to obtain the powder; and thereafter, the powder is washed with water and is subjected to calcination. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
