A stator for a dynamo-electric machine is formed in such a manner that core bodies are retained by a cylindrical retaining ring so as to be arranged in an annular pattern. In the state attached to the retaining ring, the core tooth included in each of the core body extends in the radial direction, and the core tooth has a tooth section having a coil wound therearound and also has a back yoke section connected to the outer part of the tooth section in the radial direction and extending in the circumferential direction. The outer peripheral surface of the back yoke section has: a protrusion section located at the center of the outer peripheral surface in the circumferential direction and protruding outward in the radial direction relative to a reference circle which is separated a predetermined distance from the axis of the stator; and recessed sections located at both ends of the outer peripheral surface in the circumferential direction and recessed inward in the radial direction relative to the reference circle. |
