<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscopic system capable of selecting initialization operation or continuation operation corresponding to the state of the endoscopic system. <P>SOLUTION: A trouble detection part 201 detects the trouble of an image processing part 200 on the basis of the comparison result of a taken image with the image of the processing result of the image processing part 200 to output a trouble state signal showing a trouble state. A system state detection part 202 judges whether the body cavity is internally examined by the endoscopic system on the basis of system data showing the state of the endoscopic system to output a system state signal showing a judge result. A trouble processing part 203 judges whether the programmable integrated circuit in the image processing part 200 is initialized on the basis of the trouble state signal and the system state signal to output a control signal showing a judge result.
