<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for putting, on a resin base material for a biomedical material, a marking fully visible and having no risk of having an adverse effect on a human body, by using a general purpose Nd:YAG laser or an Nd:YVO<SB POS="POST">4</SB>laser, and also to provide a marked synthetic resin member to be buried in a living body. <P>SOLUTION: The method is characterized by applying to a base material, powder of a material harmless for a living body and promoting color changing reaction of the base material by irradiating the powder with laser light, and then irradiating the surface of the base material, having the powder applied thereto, with laser light.
