<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To notify a user of a message depending on a use situation and a maintenance contract situation of a printer. <P>SOLUTION: A printer maintenance method includes the following steps: a client device detects a use situation of a connected printer; the detected use situation and identification information of the connected printer are transmitted from the client device to a server device; the server device extracts message information corresponding to a maintenance contract situation and a use situation of the printer connected to a certain client device, which is one of a plurality of client devices, from storage means on the basis of the received use situation and the identification information; the extracted message information is transmitted from the server device to the certain client device; and the client device notifies a user of a message corresponding to the received message information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
