<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a development unit that inhibits or prevents a spacer of a developing roller from being degraded by nitrate formed by a discharge product, so as to allow obtainment of excellent images over a long term, and an image formation device equipped with the same. <P>SOLUTION: A developing roller 20 is provided with spacers 21, 21 on both edges thereof.
