[Classes 52 (ii) and 52 (iii)] [Also in Group XV] A swing seat or swing cot comprises four upright supporting members in. rectangular relationship connected in pairs, one pair of connected supporting members being connected to the other pair by longitudinal side members, suspension members pivoted to the four upright supporting members and a seat or its equivalent for sitting or lying upon which is pivoted to the suspension members so that it is horizontally supported between the said suspension members and arranged to swing longitudinally without tipping, between the side members. Instead of four distinct upright supporting members connected in pairs, there may be employed a pair of substantially rectangular U-shaped supporting members and instead of four distinct suspension members there may be employed a pair of substantially rectangular U-shaped suspension members. The seat or its equivalent and the suspension members may be detachable and the remaining framework used to support, on the longitudinal side members thereof, a tray or table surface. The supporting members and the longitudinal side members may also be detachable from one another. In Fig. 1, a pair of U-shaped supporting members 10 and 11 of tubular metal are connected by longitudinal side rods 18 and 19. A pair of U-shaped suspension members 24 are pivoted to the upright portions of the supporting members by means of apertures 22 in the latter. The seat 29 is attached to bent strips 28 which are connected to spacing strips 30 and 31 by means of studs 42 and nuts 43. Studs 42 are pivotally mounted on the horizontal portions of suspension members 24. In Fig. 3, the seat and the suspension members have been removed and the remaining framework inverted and used to support a tablesurface 47 with turned-down edges 48. In Fig. 4, a swing cot is constructed on the same principle as the seat of Fig. 1, but with inverted supporting members.
