<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a stress-free operation in a character string input by causing the user to be always aware of the maximum number of acceptable characters even when the maximum number is not great enough. <P>SOLUTION: On a control terminal setting screen of a tape-less system which includes a video server and the control terminal, a character string input area is provided to display a character string content when the character string is input.
