A free-standing individual propagator comprises a support frame for receiving a horticultural pot 4 and plants, seeds or cuttings 6 growing therefrom, the support frame comprising a pair of substantially elliptical support elements 2 formed as loops. Each loop includes a lower portion defining a pot supporting base region disposed between spaced apart feet 13. At the apex of each loop there is either a receiver or a catch element and a corresponding or complementary receiver or catch formed centrally in the base region of the wire-formed loops. The horticultural pot 4 is supported by the spaced apart feet 13 which elevate the pot to enhance drainage and is protected by a cover 3 placed over the frame to provide a protected environment for the growing of plants, seeds or cuttings therein, the cover being secured by a restraining tie or elasticated band 5, if required.
