PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the reading defect of a horizontal thin line and the generation of moire, in an image reading apparatus which supplies constant current to a plurality of light sources, which emit light in mutually different colors, as drive current to read an image of an original.SOLUTION: As shown in (a), when light sources in red (R), green (G) and blue (B) are sequentially and continuously lit in an early stage of one line period, a non-lighting period (one example of non-light emitting time), during which none of the light sources is lit, continues. Then, there is a case that the non-lighting period becomes a cause of moire, etc. Then, as shown in (b), the non-lighting period is equally divided, and lighting period of each color in the one line period is set so as to be distributed between lighting periods of each color. |
