PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steam reforming catalyst which can exhibit stable catalytic performance even when a fuel atmosphere to which a hydrocarbon raw material is supplied and a steam atmosphere to which the hydrocarbon raw material is not supplied are repeated at arbitrary intervals, deposits a small amount of carbon at a low temperature and a low steam/carbon ratio, and has long life and high mechanical strength.SOLUTION: The steam reforming catalyst includes a carrier containing alumina, and at least one metallic element selected from nickel and platinum group elements, and tin, which are carried by the carrier.
