PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brightness control method which provides optimum image quality for video signals that are transmitted from PCs or other video devices to a liquid crystal display device, and a liquid crystal device using the method.SOLUTION: When video signals are transmitted from PCs or other video devices, types or states of video signals that are displayed on a screen are determined according to the average brightness of the screen or statistical processing results of motion vectors on the screen and time-sequential motion vectors, and then video signals are controlled so that a user acquires them with the optimum image quality. |
