<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new aliphatic polycarbonate and a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The aliphatic polycarbonate is expressed by formula (I) [wherein, for each of polymerization units, any one of R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>is a 3-10C branched or cyclic aliphatic hydrocarbon group; and the other of the R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>is H; and (m) is an integer of 10 to approximately 10,000].
