PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately and automatically identify a system of modulating each carrier, without having to use additional information, when detecting synchronization by a reference carrier containing frequency error with respect to a signal which is frequency-multiplexed of a plurality of orthogonal carriers. SOLUTION: A receiving apparatus includes a modulation system identifying means (7), in which a power (5) of an amplitude of a signal outputted from an equalization means (4) is averaged (6), an average of products (14-1 to 14-N) between carriers which are separated by 1- to N-times carrier interval in the signal outputted from the equalization means (4) is determined (16-1 to 16-N2), and a modulation system is identified on the basis of the average.
