摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide method and device for detecting a failure of non-contact communication equipment, which detects a failure of onboard non-contact communication equipment for detecting an onboard position without introducing a new facility. SOLUTION: Whether or not information from tag wayside coils 81 to 84 is received by the front and rear RFID readers 51 and 53 is mutually diagnosed. When a vehicle travels by a distance between antennas 52 and 54, using information receiving timing in the front RFID reader 51 as a reference, for instance, a communication state with the tag wayside coils 81 to 84 in the rear RFID reader 53 is determined. A communication history in each RFID reader 51 is recorded, for instance. When information is received in the rear RFID reader 51, the communication history of the front side RFID reader 51 is examined at a point of time retroactive by time required for the traveling by the distance between the antennas 52 and 54, and the communication state with the tag wayside coils 81 to 84 in the front RFID reader 53 is determined.
