PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device in which spacer particles can be disposed with high accuracy in a region corresponding to a non-pixel region on a substrate by using an ink-jet apparatus. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the liquid crystal display device having pixel regions and non-pixel regions and having first and second substrates 2, 3 opposed to each other includes a step of discharging a spacer particle dispersion liquid in which spacer particles are dispersed 13 through a nozzle of an ink-jet apparatus to a first substrate 2 so as to arrange the spacer particles 13 in a region on the first substrate 2 corresponding to the non-pixel region. The spacer particle dispersion liquid contains at least a solvent X having a boiling point of 200°C or higher and a surface tension of 42 mN/m or higher. In the step of arranging the spacer particles 13, the amount of the solvent X in the spacer particle dispersion liquid discharged through one nozzle at a time is 0.5 to 15 ng.
