An endoscope insertion aid configured so that, even if the posture of a patient being subjected to examination changes, the operability of the endoscope operated by the endoscopist is not impaired. An aid (10) for guiding an endoscope toward a mouthpiece (M) held in the mouth of a patient into which the endoscope is to be inserted, wherein the aid (10) comprises: a body section (11) provided with a bent through-hole having an inner diameter which enables the insertion of the endoscope therein; and a holding section (15) for affixing the body section (11) so that the body section (11) does not move when the endoscope is inserted therein. Disposing the body section (11) in such a manner that the opening at one end thereof faces the through-hole (Mh) of the mouthpiece (M) enables, even if the endoscopist is at a position not along the direction in which the mouth of the patient faces, the endoscopist to insert the shaft (S) of the endoscope into the mouthpiece (M) held in the mouth of the patient. As a result, the endoscopist can operate the endoscope from a given place irrespective of the posture of the patient, and this means that the operability of the endoscope operated by the endoscopist is not impaired by the posture of the patient.
|
