<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device including a plurality of developer carriers, and preventing toner from sticking to the developer carriers. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device includes: a plurality of developing rollers 4a, 4b, 4c using a two-component developer and installed facing a latent image support and configured to carry the developer and form a toner image on the latent image support; and a doctor part 9 for adjusting the quantity of the developer on the developing roller 4a and triboelectrically charging the toner. The developing rollers 4b, 4c of the developing rollers 4a, 4b, 4c meet the followings: (1) they do not face the doctor part 9; (2) they are made of a material harder than that of the developer; (3) they have very fine grooves formed along the rotating direction of the developer carrier, on the surface thereof; and (4) when the average distance between the very fine grooves is Sm, the Sm is smaller than the weight mean particle diameter D of the carrier (Sm<D). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
