<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a network performance by avoiding delay of packet transfer in a network comprised of network devices each having separated packet transfer and route control functions. <P>SOLUTION: In a network comprised of network devices in each of which a control function is separated as an external controller, a packet with no route information in a flow table managing route information of each network device is speculatively transferred and held just before transmitting to an external network. Each network device determines whether the speculative transfer is made successful in accordance with settings of the flow table from the controller. The speculatively transferred packet is held in all the network devices through which the packet has been passed, and if it is determined that the speculative transfer fails, a speculation cancel packet is sent to cancel the speculatively transferred packet, and the packet is sent again from the network device that has made a mistake about a transfer destination. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
