PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover member mounting structure of an automobile enabling a cover member mounting operation to be facilitated and reliably preventing the cover member from being displaced or slipped off. SOLUTION: A claw member 12 inserted into a through hole 10a formed in an escutcheon 10 is formed on an inner cover 6. An engagement projection 12a is formed on the claw member 12 at a portion facing the front end surface 7k of an outer cover 7. When the claw member 12 is inserted into the through hole 10a of the escutcheon 10, the movement of the escutcheon 10 in the longitudinal direction of a vehicle is restrained by the rear end surface 12b of the engagement projection 12a and the front end surface 7k of the outer cover 7.
