PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid ejecting apparatus which can suppress the deposition of a pigment in a waste liquid tank. SOLUTION: The printer includes a recording head in which nozzles 32 that eject an ink are formed, and a capping mechanism 14A which covers the nozzles 32 to receive the ink. The ink is a disperse liquid in which the charged pigment is dispersed in a dispersion medium. The capping mechanism 14A includes a cap 16 to which the ink is discharged, a separation tank 20 which separates the ink flown from the cap 16 into a pigment and a dispersion medium, and the waste liquid tank 40 into which the separated dispersion medium flows. The separation tank 20 includes a pair of electrodes 23 and 24 in contact with the stored ink, depositing the pigment on a surface of one electrode 24 by impressing the ink to the pair of electrodes 23 and 24.
