PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a considerably large-sized displacement ship which secures a large space for cargos and eliminates the need for steering by dispensing with the use of ballast water even during no-cargo navigation. SOLUTION: In this ship, the width of the bottom 12 of a stern part is formed generally equal to the maximum width of the ship, a tilted outer surface 14 rising diagonally rearward/upward from the bottom 12 is provided to the stern part, and a screw propeller 2 extends from the tilted outer surface 14 rearward. The screw propeller 2 includes a plurality of port side propellers and a plurality of starboard side propellers, and comprises variable pitch blades 22 which are rotated reverse to each other on the port side propellers and the starboard side propellers, respectively. The size of the screw propeller 2 is approximately such that the movable pitch blades 22 are positioned under a no-cargo draft line. Skegs 16 are attached to both outer sides of the arrangement of the propeller shaft 21 of the screw propeller 2 in the ship width direction, respectively. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
