PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a thick open-cell body of acrylic rubber excellent in oil resistance, heat resistance and weather resistance. SOLUTION: Acrylic rubber of 100 pts.wt. is mixed with a plasticizer of 2-30 pts.wt., a crosslinking agent, a foaming agent, an auxiliary foaming agent, carbon black and a filler, and kneaded. The kneaded material is loaded in a sealed mold and heated under pressure to obtain a foam. The foam taken out of the mold is heated under atmospheric pressure and subjected to post-crosslinking at 150-170°C and subsequent mechanical pressing to interconnect the cells.
