<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection video display apparatus which is improved in convenience when it is transported by making it possible to insert and remove a projection optical system. <P>SOLUTION: The projection video display apparatus 100 includes a video light generation portion 140 which generates video light, a housing which houses the video light generation portion, and a passage region 113 provided in the housing, through which the video light emitted from the video light generation portion passes.
