<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new gene 109P1D4 for the treatment or diagnosis of cancers and its encoded protein, and variants thereof. <P>SOLUTION: 109P1D4 exhibits tissue-specific expression in normal adult tissue, and is aberrantly expressed in specific cancers.
