PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluation of mechanical accuracy which enables relative displacement between a processing tool and a processing point to be accurately measured regardless of the size of a processing machine. SOLUTION: The method is employed to measure mechanical accuracy of the processing machine such as straightness of a part concerned and positioning accuracy on the basis of image data by photographing the part intended to be measured for accuracy such as straightness with a camera mounted on the processing machine, for example, the image data of the processing table of the processing machine concerned or the surface of a workpiece installed on the processing table.
