PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for processing a norbornene-based transparent resin sheet which is useful for optical materials and has 300-2,000μm thickness, and the norbornene-based transparent resin sheet obtained by the processing method. SOLUTION: The norbornene-based transparent resin sheet having 300-2,000μm thickness is processed by irradiation with a laser, which has≤20μm wavelength and the laser oscillation medium of which is carbon dioxide, so that the processed surface thereof has excellent external appearance and has not a deformation caused by a foaming phenomenon.
