MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR STORAGE SYSTEM THAT HAS POOLS CONSTRUCTED FROM REAL DOMAIN GROUPS HAVING DIFFERENT PERFORMANCES

A storage system has a plurality of virtual volumes (VVOL) and a plurality of pools. Each pool is constructed from a plurality of real domains having different performances. The storage system accesses a real domain assigned to a virtual domain specified on the basis of an access command from an access source. A controller manages which real domain is assigned to which virtual domain and manages pool status information which indicates access load in relation to virtual domains. A management system of the storage system has management information which indicates, for each VVOL, request performance and performance. VVOL performance is specified on the basis of the pool status information. The management system specifies, on the basis of the management information, a VVOL having an inappropriate status, and performs migration processing in relation to the pool associated with the specified VVOL in order to change the status of the specified VVOL from the inappropriate status to an appropriate status.
