PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely detect a tympanic membrane temperature. SOLUTION: A tympanic membrane temperature detector 10 includes: a needle-shaped part 30 which is provided with a thermocouple, in which the contact point of the thermocouple is provided to a tympanic membrane contact part 32 at the distal end in contact with the tympanic membrane when inserted in an external auditory canal, and which elastically deforms due to contact load of the tympanic membrane contact part 32; and an output conversion part 16 and a measurement device for detecting the temperature of a part in contact with the tympanic membrane on the basis of the output of the thermocouple of the needle-shaped part 30. The needle-shaped part 30 is inserted in the external auditory canal to bring the tympanic membrane contact part 32 provided with the contact point of thermocouple into contact with the tympanic membrane. The temperature of the tympanic membrane in contact with the tympanic membrane contact part 32 is detected by the output conversion part 16 and the measurement device on the basis of output of the thermocouple of the needle-shaped part 30.
