PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reluctance motor for achieving high torque and high efficiency by preventing a q-axis magnetic flux from passing between an outer periphery of a rotor and a slit to reduce a q-axis inductance. SOLUTION: In the reluctance motor including the rotor in a stator for generating a rotating magnetic field, a rotor core of the rotor includes a first core sheet having as many divided cores as poles divided on a d-axis, where a plurality of slits are formed in the divided core along a magnetic path from one d-axis to the other d-axis to prevent a flow of magnetic flux in the direction of the q-axis, and a second core sheet not divided in a d-axis direction.
