PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform excellent photographing free from an image blur due to a camera-shake, and to effectively correct a blur when the camera-shake occurs. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus is equipped with: blur correction elements 21X and 21Y for generating gradation of a refractive index in a layer in accordance with applied voltage; a zoom lens unit 210 formed by arranging the blur correction elements on a photographing optical axis; an imaging element 73 for imaging an object image formed on an imaging surface by the zoom lens unit; angular velocity sensors 108 and 109 for detecting the blur amount of the produced blur; a blur correction amount calculating part 245 for calculating a blur correction amount in accordance with the blur amount detected by the angular velocity sensors; a blur correction element X direction driving part 215 and a blur correction element Y direction driving part 216 for applying voltage to the blur correction elements; and a camera control part 241 for controlling the blur correction element X direction driving part and the blur correction element Y direction driving part so as to suppress an image blur on the imaging surface of the imaging element 73 according to the correction amount calculated by the blur correction amount calculating part.
