PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide newsprint paper that has high filler sticking tendency to pulp fibers, excellent opacity and oil absorption property, slightly causes paper powder during printing, has excellent printing workability and slight paper powder drop and reduces stain in a machine system in a production step and improves machine operation efficiency by densely packing a filler between pulp fibers. SOLUTION: The newsprint paper that comprises pulp as a main raw material and contains a filler contains regenerated particles as the filler obtained from papermaking sludge as a main raw material in which regenerated particles A having a volume-average particle diameter (a) and regenerated particles B having a volume-average particle diameter (b) larger than the volume-average particle diameter (a) are used as the regenerated particles. Preferably the volume-average particle diameter (a) of the regenerated particles A is≥1 and <3μm and the volume-average particle diameter (b) of the regenerated particles B is≥3 and≤10μm.
