<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To open and close a lid of a washing machine smoothly, suppressing the generation of collision noise when being opened and closed. <P>SOLUTION: The washing machine includes a lid body 53 disposed to be freely openable and closable at the upper part of a top cover 52 placed on an upper part of a washing machine body, a toggle spring 66 switching the urging force to the opening or closing direction by a predetermined angle during an opening and closing turning operation of the lid body 53, and connecting levers 87 and 88 turned in conjunction with the lid body. An opening impact absorbing damper 72b for absorbing impact when the lid body 53 opens is provided at the connecting lever 87 in association with the motion in the opening direction, and a closing impact absorbing damper 72a for absorbing impact when the lid body 53 closes is provided at the connecting lever 88 in association with the motion in the closing direction, so that the generation of the impact noise is suppressed in both opening and closing operations of the lid body. The damping force of the impact absorbing dampers does not initially work in the opening and closing operations, a user can open and close the lid body only with a force to resist the load of the toggle spring, and the lid opening and closing operation is user-friendly. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
