<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device that adjusts the velocity of cooling air in conjunction with an output of a blower and hardly disturbs a smooth flow of the cooling air. <P>SOLUTION: The image display device includes a spatial light modulator 21R for modulating light emitted from a light source device according to an image signal, the blower 81 for sending the cooling air, and a blast duct 82 that guides the cooling air sent from the blower to the proximity of an cooling object including the spatial light modulator and blows off the cooling air from a blow-off port 82a toward the spatial light modulator. At least a part of a wall surface of the blast duct is constituted of a movable wall 88 movable so as to change the cross section of the blast duct. The image display device further includes a moving means for moving the movable wall, an output control section 85 for controlling the output of the blower, and a movable wall control section 85 for controlling the movement of the movable wall according to the change of the output of the blower. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
