摘要 <p>A liquid crystal display device (10) judges whether a panel temperature (Tp) which is detected by a temperature sensor (16) is higher than a predetermined temperature or not. As a result, if the panel temperature (Tp) is equal to or less than the predetermined temperature, a video signal (V1) input is output to a digital gamma conversion unit (22). The digital gamma conversion unit (22) performs gamma conversion with respect to the video signal (V1) with the use of an LUT (12). The gamma conversion is carried out with the use of the LUT (12) for storing such a gamma conversion result that a luminance is obtained by multiplying a luminance corresponding to an input gradation on the side of low gradations by a predetermined magnification. As a result, the luminance corresponding to the input gradation on the side of the low gradations of the video signal (V1) becomes higher, which improves the response speed of the liquid crystal. On the other hand, if the panel temperature (Tp) is higher than the predetermined temperature, the response speed of the liquid crystal is high. Therefore the video signal (V1) is output to a timing control unit (24) without being subjected to the gamma conversion.</p>
