PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mitigate the occurrence of performance reduction due to the lack of the number of receiving buffer planes. SOLUTION: A channel device 42 has a plurality of planes of receiving buffers 424 for storing frames received via a plurality of ports and a channel processor 421, and frames are exchanged between an input/output processing device 4 and a plurality of input/output devices 6 via a plurality of ports 429. By executing a program with the channel processor, when a frame is received, the situation of using the receiving buffer of that port is determined and according to the determination, a receiving buffer is additionally allocated to the port; and thereafter, the receiving buffer added to the port is collected and returned to common buffers.
