PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conveyor take up mechanism positively sealing and preventing leakage of dust in a conveyor case during take up adjustment, and achieving simple take up operation. SOLUTION: The conveyor take up mechanism 100 includes a dust protection plate 140 covering a case oblong hole 111a while a take up shaft 130 projects from the case oblong hole 111a provided along a chain tension direction in a case side wall 111 of the conveyor case 110, a bearing slider rotatably supporting the take up shaft 130 projecting from the dust prevention plate 140, and a take up spindle 160 moving the bearing slider so as to freely reciprocate along the chain tension direction. A dust prevention plate pressing member 180 connected to the take up spindle 160 is provided so as to move between a dust prevention plate fixing position of surface-contacting and pressing the dust prevention plate 140, and a dust prevention plate release position of separating away from the dust prevention plate fixing position in the chain tension direction and breaking off from the dust prevention plate 140.
