PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnesium alloy screw which has excellent heat resistance. SOLUTION: The magnesium alloy screw is made of a magnesium alloy containing Al in an amount of 4.0 to 10.0% in mass%, wherein a peak intensity ratio X<SB>p</SB>in the cross-section parallel to the screw axial direction satisfies≤0.55. The magnesium alloy screw has excellent creep properties since the peak intensity ratio X<SB>p</SB>satisfies the specific range. The magnesium alloy screw can be obtained by subjecting a screw formed body having a shaft part in which a thread has been formed and a head part connected to the shaft part to first heat treatment at a heating temperature of≥350°C.
