PURPOSE: A transmitter and a receiver apparatus for dynamic lane operation in a multiple lane based Ethernet and a control method thereof are provided to process transmission and receiving simply and efficiently, by using variable lane number varying dynamically. CONSTITUTION: A monitor monitors change of at least one lane used by a transmitter. An upper layer control part transmits lane variation information related with the changed lane(511). The lane variation information can include the number of the changed lanes. The lane variation information can be transmitted using a sequence ordered-set frame format. An RS layer control part transmits the lane variation information to an RS(Regenerator Section) layer of a corresponding receiver apparatus(513).
