PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an evaporator properly function, in an air conditioner enabling a two-layer flow mode. SOLUTION: This air conditioner includes a first air blow passage 10 having an inside air inlet 11 for the first air blow passage and communicated with a foot outlet 13, a second air blow passage 20 having an outside air inlet 21 for the second air blow passage and communicated with a defroster outlet 22, a first air blower 30 arranged in the first air blow passage 10, a second air blower 33 arranged in the second air blow passage 20, a heater 32 for heating each air blow of the first air blow passage 10 and the second air blow passage 20, the evaporator 31 arranged in the first air blow passage 10 to cool the air blow, a first communicating port 5 for communicating the first air blow passage 10 with the second air blow passage 20 between a downstream side of the evaporator 31 and an upstream side of the heater 32, a first communicating port opening/closing door 6 opening/closing the first communicating port 5, a second communicating port 7 for communicating the first air blow passage 10 with the second air blow passage 20 at a downstream position of the heater 32, and a second communicating port opening/closing door 8 opening/closing the second communicating port 7.
