<p>A geared drive system (300) having load sharing between multiple lay shafts comprises an input shaft (301) having an input herringbone gear (305); three lay shafts (321, 322, 323) each having respective input herringbone gear (331, 332, 333) and output gear (371, 372, 373); and an output shaft (311) having an output gear (315). The input gears (331, 332, 333) of the lay shafts are engaged with the input gear (305) of the input shaft (301) for transmission of rotation from the input shaft (301) to the lay shafts (321, 322, 333), and the output gear (315) of the output shaft (311) is engaged with the output gear (371, 372, 373) on each of the lay shafts (321, 322, 323) for transmission of rotation from the lay shafts to the output shaft (311). The input gear (305) of the input shaft (301) is radially moveable to allow for load sharing of an input rotational load among the lay shafts (321, 322, 323).</p> |
