PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means capable of processing a medium other than media allowed to be processed while maintaining the normal length in the width-direction of an insertion port of a medium processing apparatus. SOLUTION: In the medium processing apparatus 1 for ejecting a medium P sucked from the insertion port 20 from the insertion port 20, a vertical slit 22 having an open end on the lower surface 17 side and brought into contact with both side surfaces 19 in the width direction which is a direction perpendicular to the sucking direction of the medium P and a side guide 23 having part of the side surface 19 of the insertion port 20 and in which a scooping surface 24 for scooping the width-direction end of a tip of a medium P other than a medium allowed to be processed, which is conveyed in an ejection direction, is formed are formed on the upper surface 18 of the insertion port 20.
