A valve unit (2) moved through an actuator has a valve closing body (3) that corresponds to a valve seat (20) so that an area of higher pressure can be separated from an area of lower pressure. The movable valve unit has pressure equalization opening (24) through which either area is connected to the inner chamber of the bypass valve. The pressure equalization openings are arranged so that during opening of the bypass valve, a reduced pressure in a closed state of the bypass valve can be introduced into one chamber.
