<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption that is consumed by an optical transmitter. <P>SOLUTION: The optical transmitter 1 includes a plurality of wavelength variable optical output units 31-1 to 31-88, including a plurality of optical output elements, and a signal processing circuit 30 for controlling the output wavelength of light, that is respectively output by the plurality of wavelength variable optical output units 31-1 to 31-88.
