Slimming cosmetic active ingredient, useful to e.g. treat cellulitis and/or appearance of orangey skin, comprises a mixture of a product from Coriandrum sativum fruit and a product from Citrus aurantium dulcis fruit

Slimming cosmetic active ingredient (I) comprises at least a mixture of a product obtained from Coriandrum sativumfruit and a product derived from fruit of Citrus aurantium dulcis. Independent claims are included for: (1) a preparation of (I) comprising: obtaining a product obtained from Coriandrum sativumfruit, by solubilizing Coriandrum sativumfruit in water, followed by enzymatic hydrolysis; obtaining a product obtained from Citrus aurantium dulcisfruit, by solubilizing Citrus aurantium dulcisfruit in solvent containing water and butylene glycol; and mixing the product from Coriandrum sativumand the product from Citrus aurantium dulcis; (2) #a cosmetic composition comprising (I) (0.01-20 wt.%); and (3) #a cosmetic process for care of human skin, treating cellulite and/or appearance of orangey skin, comprising topical application of the composition containing (I) to the skin. ACTIVITY : Antiinflammatory; Antibacterial; Antilipemic. MECHANISM OF ACTION : Fatty acid transport protein 4 (FATP-4) synthesis inhibitor; Caveolin-1 synthesis inhibitor. The ability of (I) to inhibit the caveolin-1 synthesis was tested in human adipocytes by Western blotting. The results showed that the inhibition of adipocyte synthesis of caveolin-1 by (I) was 38%.
