<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the generation of unnecessary oscillation and to improve a CI value. <P>SOLUTION: Projection parts are provided on both main surfaces of a planar crystal piece, one projection part is defined as a first projection part, the other projection part is defined as a second projection part, and the crystal oscillation element includes a first electrode provided on the first projection part and a second electrode provided on the second projection part.
